Quite often we are asked a question "How much is my coil packaging going to cost me?" Here are some of my thoughts on the subject:
There are many different packaging styles available. Many companies use materials and packaging styles based on experience. We are aware of some companies where the coil packaging costs them $ 8,- USD per ton of coil packaged including both labor and materials. On the other hand we also know of a mill who has calculated their packaging cost to be $ 0.66 USD per ton of coil packaged. No significant change is level of protection. If you take the spread and compare it is easy to imagine how large sum of money is at play here.
