Pesmel supplies coil packing line to VAMA
VAMA (Valin ArceloMittal Automotive), a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Hunan Valin Steel, has selected an automatic coil packing solution from Pesmel. The line will be installed next to continuous annealing and galvanizing lines to CRM complex the company is building in Loudi, Hunan Province, China. VAMA joint venture is expected to become operational in the first half of 2014.
Automated coil packing line consists of inclusive moisture and mechanical protection with automatic strapping, measuring and weighing systems. The coils are transported between stations by intelligent coil carriage system. The packing line high light is the state-of-the-art moisture protection done with TEW (throught eye wrapping) technology with crepe paper and stretch film to make airtight and moisture free package. According to research this technology and materials give the best rust prevention available at the market. Line also provides significant savings in material costs as the packing materials are automatically made according to coil dimensions.
VAMA’s cold-rolled and coated products are produced primarily for automotive industry with high quality demand. This sets requirements also for the packing, as the products go through several handling phases before arriving to the end customer. “With selected packing system the customer requirements of optimized packing material use and operational costs with high quality packing will be realized.” tells Mr. Mikko Rissanen, Sales Manager from Pesmel.
